Broadcast content can support:

“The Nicest Kids in Town”
“The New Girl in Town”
Tracy’s television audition
“I Can Hear the Bells”
“The 60’s Playoff”
The Corny Collins bumpers
“(It’s) Hairspray”
“Cooties”
“You Can’t Stop the Beat”
The Miss Teenage Hairspray broadcast

The visual package helps transform the stage from a theatrical environment into a live 1960s television broadcast while leaving room for practical cameras, studio scenery, choreography, and performers.

Optional Live-Camera Integration

The QLab workspace includes optional cues designed to allow a live camera feed to appear within the Corny Collins broadcast projections.

When used with a compatible camera, video-capture device, and properly configured QLab system, the live feed can be displayed as part of the television-studio content and enhanced with:

Black-and-white television treatment
1960s-inspired film grain
Vintage broadcast contrast and texture
Period-style framing and screen placement

These cues allow your production to feature live close-ups of performers during selected Corny Collins sequences while maintaining the visual style of an early television broadcast.

Live-camera functionality is optional. Productions that do not wish to use a camera can perform the show with the supplied scenic and broadcast content alone. Camera equipment, capture hardware, cabling, and live-video configuration are not included.

Colorful 1960s Visual Style

The projection package draws inspiration from mid-century advertising, television variety shows, record shops, fashion graphics, and popular entertainment.

Visual content includes:

Bold period color combinations
Retro geometric patterns
Television test patterns and broadcast graphics
Record-shop and dance-show imagery
Black-and-white television sequences
Vintage film texture
Animated musical accents
High-energy transitions
Finale and company graphics

These elements create a consistent visual language while allowing each location and musical number to develop its own personality.

Ready-to-Use QLab Workspace

Files will be available 48 hrs from time of purchase.

Every scenic image, animated sequence, broadcast graphic, live-camera option, transition, fade, and blackout is organized into a programmed QLab workspace. Cue labels include scene references and suggested placement information to help your operator follow the production.

The workspace is ready to use as supplied but can also be adjusted for your production’s:

Pacing and scene-change timing
Scenic design and staging
Musical and choreographic timing
Live-camera placement
Broadcast framing
Optional split scenes
Cue order
Fade timing
Projection surface and output requirements

Most cues are manually triggered, allowing the projections to follow the timing and choices of your live performers.

Technical Support Included

Your package includes one 30-minute phone or Zoom consultation. We can help you open the workspace, connect the media files, configure your display, and confirm that the supplied content is playing correctly through your projector or video wall.

The consultation can also provide general guidance for locating the optional live-camera cues. Camera compatibility, capture-device installation, and production-specific video engineering remain the responsibility of the purchaser.

Licensing

Purchase provides a limited license to use the digital content for one production at the theatre and for the performance dates identified in the order. The package does not include performance rights, scripts, scores, music, accompaniment tracks, camera equipment, capture hardware, or authorized show logos.

Files may not be transferred, shared, resold, redistributed, or reused for another production.
